Last month on the 10th of February, SONEMA contributed with a donation to the “Miséricorde” school in Kinshasa, capital of Democratic Republic of Congo.

The “Miséricorde” school frames about 560 orphaned schoolchildren from 9 to 17 years old previously unschooled. According Adrienne Yulu, General Manager of SONEMA RDC, the aim of the donation is to improve schoolchildren conditions of study and life. Thanks to this project, the school will be able to set up a medical clinic to allow the first aid for very dangerous deases (as malaria and typhoid) and reduce significaly the health problems and mortality risks, she added.

The check and material donations (books, school supplies, uniforms, loincloths and medicines) took place in Kinshasa during an official ceremony where attended His Excellence Mr Emmanuel Mangwana, Provincial Minister of Public Service, Employment & Energy along with Mrs Kigungu Willy, President of the Political Parties of the Presidential Majority ; and both Senior Advisers Mr Koto, in charge of Economics & Finance and Mr Munkoko, in charge of Infrastructure & Public Works to represent the government.

Also present the Provincial Minister of Education; the Mayor of Limete Municipality and severals NGO partners (REEJER, RENACERAS, UNICEF, ICRC, WORLD VISION, OMS, AIRTEL & VODACOM Foundation) and about one hundred Children of the school to receive the SONEMA Gift by François Loteteka Major account Manager representing SONEMA Monaco who said “What we can deliver is life-saving and life-changing” to claim SONEMA social commitment.
