Sonema has chosen Intelsat, the world’s leading global satellite network operator, to extend its satellite connectivity capacity and support the development of customer networks in Africa. Through the Intelsat infrastructures, Sonema will provide enhanced communication services to its customers, in particular banking and financial institutions.
As part of the extension of their partnership, Sonema will integrate C-Band connectivity from the Intelsat 33e satellite to expand its services in the most remote regions of Africa. The combination of Intelsat 14 and Intelsat 33 will allow Sonema to provide its customers with tailor-made solutions, focusing on reliability and quality.
“The banking sector is a major growth engine for Africa. Our customers in this sector require highly reliable and secure business networks. Customer experience in this field is essential. “said Catherine Delom, Sonema’s Managing Director. “The Intelsat EpicNG platform will allow us to offer innovative new solutions and services to our customers, which can easily be delivered to the most remote areas via C-band and Ku-band spot beams.”
“Thanks to our many years of experience serving customers in Africa, we know that our clients need increasingly reliable and efficient transmissions to meet the growing demands of their business networks.” said Jean-Philippe Gillet, Intelsat’s Vice-President- Europe, Middle East and Africa Sales. “This agreement ensures that Sonema’s customers will be able to expand their operations knowing that each of their sites will have access to the same level of reliable connectivity, regardless of location.”
